This position directs, establishes and plans the overall policies and goals for the Health Information/Medical Record Departments in support of strategic objectives and program planning of the organization. 

Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. 

Oversees all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to the organization?s policies and procedures covering the privacy of, and access to, patient health information in compliance with federal and state laws and the healthcare organization?s information privacy practices .


Knowledge:


Knowledge of health information and transcription functions in a hospital or ambulatory care setting. 

Knowledge of electronic systems and applications for transcription and dictation systems required.

Knowledge of terminal digit filing system is required. 

Knowledge of basic medical record activities to include filing, record retrieval, archival as well as destruction in accordance to guidelines is required. 

Experience/knowledge of release of information procedures is required. 

Knowledge sufficient to insure compliance with Federal and State regulations guarding the portability and management of protected health information.

Healthcare Systems Compliance Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES 

This position?s functions can be primarily Operational or primarily Regulatory, or a combination of both depending on varying business needs. 

Operations focus: coordinate and perform investigations, and prepare responses for: HIPAA privacy and data security incidents, regulatory and consumer complaints, suspected or alleged fraud, and other legislative compliance related obligations. Research regulations and legislation impacting TPA and contract obligations. Work closely with cross-functional leaders for to ensure appropriate resolution, accurate reporting and tracking within service level obligations 

Regulatory focus: perform legal/regulatory or operations research, provide accurate analysis, document clear and concise effective responses and recommendations. Identify, analyze, and summarize newly enacted legislation and regulation impacting Univita?s clients as detailed in their Statements of Work. Support TPA licensure filings, renewals and regulatory reporting. 2. Participates in joint trade activities on behalf of Univita.3. Presents training sessions to the workforce on regulatory required obligations affecting Third Party Administrators (TPA) functions such as new-hire HIPAA, Anti-Fraud, Complaint Handling.4. Maintains appropriate training attendance records and documentation for audit purposes. 5. Participates as a compliance subject matter expert in client implementations if requested.6. Other compliance duties and research projects as assigned including triaging and time managing multiple competing priorities. 

Requirements 

1-3+ years insurance compliance experience in product filings and working with regulators to resolve complaints and support market conduct examinations 

Experience presenting to individuals and large groups 

Ability to independently prioritize and address multiple tasks, risks and deadlines 

Strong communication and time management/task prioritization skills 

Skilled using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and legal research tools

Clinical Office Supervisor 


 Providence, RI


 University Surgical Associates, Rhode Island’s largest multidisciplinary surgical group, is seeking a Clinical Office Supervisor to facilitate the flow of patient care in the clinical office setting. This position functions as the Office Supervisor for one of our Providence offices with primary accountability to the Clinical Office Manager. Their primary duty is administrative support to the physicians and to supervise support staff to ensure maximum standards in daily operations of clinical sessions are met, including complying with OSHA standards and maintaining patient confidentiality.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :


Maintains physician staff calendar by coordinating physician administrative meetings, clinical schedule and surgical

Responsible for scheduling all office appointments, office procedures, tests, inpatient and outpatient procedures. Ensures all appropriate paperwork is delivered to the correct hospital

Management of and proper handling of all incoming referrals, via various methods (fax, phone, electronic, etc) scheduling appropriately and in a timely

Obtains all necessary authorizations for surgical procedures/tests, and referrals for office visits/billing to ensure payment of services rendered.

Coordination and completion of all insurance, TDI forms, and Workers Comp

May coordinate transcription for the physician, if applicable to their practice.

Maintain a spreadsheet listing all CME credits obtained for each physician and

maintain files of all external CME certificates for each physician

Update CV’s for physicians

Responsible for hospital reappointments

Maintenance of CAQH (Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare)

Submit conference and travel request

Process all check request for journals, membership dues, licensing, travel,

Maintain check request log to monitor processing of each request

Coordinates orientation of all new clinical office support staff; trains and supervises staff

Coordinates functions of staff in clinical office setting

Assists and provides input for staff performance

Processes payroll on a biweekly Approves scheduled flex time in accordance with USA policy and procedure to ensure proper coverage is in place

Oversees and approves ordering of all supplies and equipment in the clinical office.

Ensures timely surgical and inpatient billing submissions and reconciles billing

Coordinates between USA and departments of Lifespan to initiate services and resolve problems for the clinical office.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Office Manager

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND A BILITIES:

Bachelor’s degree in Business or the equivalent in work experience

Three to five years of supervisory experience, preferably in a clinical office

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and proficient with electronic health record

Promotes a positive and professional image of the organization and its services
